Applications are invited from the citizens of India on prescribed OMR
application form for the Himachal Pradesh Forest Service (Assistant Conservator of Forest) Examination, 2010. Department of Forest:- After successful completion of the training course,
they will be appointed as Assistant Conservator of Forest,(05 Posts) Class-I, Gazetted in the Pay scale of Rs. 7220-11660/-(Pre-revised).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:-
(i) Candidates must possess Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Science or Engineering of any
recognised University or its equivalent with atleast one of the following subjects:-
Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application/Science, Engineering (Agriculture/
Chemical/ Civil/ Computer/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical), Environmental Science,
Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science,
Zoology.
OR
Honours certificate holders of any of the Government run Forest Rangers Colleges
provided they are sponsored by the state.
Provided that in case of graduates with pure Mathematics, Statistics, they must have
taken Science subject in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.
(ii) Physical Standard:-
Note:- Candidates not having the required physical standard of height and chest need not apply.

(iii)Health Certificate
(a) The candidates selected for training will have to produce Medical certificate issued by a duly
constituted Medical Board in the form prescribed by Article (19) of the Central Civil
Services Regulations, or the corresponding rule in the Supplementary Rules testifying to the
candidates sound hearing and general physical fitness for rough outdoor work in the Forest
Deptt.
(b) Candidates will be required to produce the Medical certificate issued by the Chief Medical
Officer or equivalent authority of the District concerned.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:- The knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal
Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the State of Himachal
Pradesh.
NOTE:- The number of post(s) is/are tentative and may increase or decrease for different categories of
candidates.
Number of Chances:- The candidates belonging to general category can avail of 06 chances to appear in
the examination and there is no such limit for the candidates belonging to SCs/STs/OBCs categories.
Other Conditions:-
AGE :- (i) BETWEEN 21 TO 34 YEARS.
(ii) Age of a candidate shall be reckoned as on 01.01.2010.
(iii) The maximum age limit for the candidates already in service of the Government including
those who have been appointed on adhoc or on contract basis is 42 years.
(iv) Relaxation in upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for S.C. / S.T. and other prescribed
reserved categories (OPRC) candidates of Himachal Pradesh relaxation in upper age for Ex-
Serviceman of H.P. is as per Government instructions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:-
(i) The eligibility of the candidates in terms of essential qualification, experience etc. shall be
reckoned as on the last normal date of receipt of applications i.e. 01-05-2010.
(ii) Essential Qualification for the post should be completed by the last date for receipt of
applications.
(iii) The decision of the Commission as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission
to interview or selection will be final and no correspondence/ personal enquiries will be
entertained. The Commission will not be responsible for any delay in receipt of applications,
due to any reasons whatsoever.

(iv) Onus of proving that the candidate is qualified shall be on the candidate. In case no date of
notification/declaration of final result is mentioned in any certificate the date of issue of
certificate shall be deemed date of obtaining E.Q Incomplete, defectively filled up, old,
unsigned and zeroxed application forms will be rejected straightway and no subsequent
correspondence will be entertained.

Examination Fees:
General / Unreserved category Rs.250/-.
SC/ST/OPRC Rs. 63/-.
Fee in shape of Bank draft in favour of Secretary, H.P. Public Service Commission for Rs. 250/-
(Rupees two hundred fifty)only, Rs. 63/- (Rupees sixty three for SC/ST/)OBC of H.P.)only,
payable at Shimla, must accompany the applications and send to the Secretary, HPPSC, Nigam Vihar,
Shimla-171002 (HP). Ex-Servicemen unless discharged at their own request before completion of
normal tenure and visually impaired candidates of H.P. are exempted from payment of application
fee. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
HOW TO APPLY:-

(ii) In service candidates may apply to the Commission with advance copy alongwith requisite fee
with information to their Head of Departments/Employer for issuing NOC. No in service
candidate will be interviewed unless he/she brings NOC from the concerned employer.
(iii) OMR application form priced Rs. 50/- will be available at the Reception Counter of H.P.
Public Service Commission on all working days during office hour’s.
(iv) Application forms can also be obtained by post on payment of Rs.100/- per form i.e. inclusive
of postal charges by means of crossed Bank Draft of scheduled Bank drawn in favour of
Secretary, H.P. Public Service Commission, payable at Shimla only.
(v) Firmly affix one recent high contrast passport size, preferably black and white, photograph
(taken on or after 01-01-2010) with gum / fevicol (not to be pinned or stappled) in the space
provided for it in the Application Form It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are
allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable.
(vi) Category like Gen./SC/ ST/OBC/Ex-Serviceman Etc. once claimed in the application form
will not be substituted/ changed later on.
(vii) Re-Checking/Re-Evaluation, for the written examination shall not be allowed in any case.
(viii) Disputes, if any, shall be subject to court jurisdiction at Shimla.
(ix) The candidate must write his/her telephone/mobile number below his/her mailing address
against Column No.1 of application form.
(x) SC/ST/OBC candidates of H.P. must possess such certificate (s) on lineage of parental
families.
(xi) Candidates of reserved categories of states other than H.P. will be considered as General
category candidates provided they have deposited fee Rs.250/=
LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS:
Last date for receipt of applications on the computerised form in the office of the Commission is 01-05-2010.
For the candidates residing in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshdeep, Ladhakh Division
of J&K State, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Pangi
& Bharmour Sub Divisions of Chamba Distt., Dodra Kawar Sub.Division of Shimla Distt. , Kinnaur
and Lahaul & Spiti Distt. of Himachal Pradesh whose applications are received by post only from
these areas the last Date is 15-05-2010.
